Peanut

Peanut is a senior spayed terrier mix with a heart as big as her story. She was found curled up under the covers beside her deceased owner, staying loyally by their side and waiting to pass as well. With no food or water for an unknown amount of time, Peanut had accepted her fate — until the stars aligned for a little miracle.

The brave men and women of the Ridge Fire Department discovered her and immediately recognized the urgency of her condition. They rushed her to the vet, where our founder happened to hear her story and took over her care without hesitation. When authorities contacted her former family, they chose not to keep Peanut and relinquished ownership.

But heroes don’t give up — and neither did Peanut.
The Ridge FD stepped up once again and opened their homes and hearts to foster her. Through love, patience, and safety, Peanut grew stronger each day and her broken heart began to heal.

And the best part of her miracle?
Her rescuers didn’t just save her — they fell in love with her. Peanut has now been adopted by the very people who first saved her life, and she is spending her golden years surrounded by comfort, devotion, and the love she always deserved.

Dixie

Dixie is the beautiful Texas Heeler pictured closest to the front — and her journey has been an emotional one. She came to us after her family lost their home and separated, leaving her in need of a new place to belong. The sudden change took a toll on her, and Dixie struggled with trust and interactions with other dogs.

With patience, love, and guidance from John at John’s Dog Magic Dog Training, along with her dedicated foster family, Dixie slowly began to heal. She learned to feel safe again, gained confidence, and rediscovered the joy of being around other dogs. Her transformation has been nothing short of inspiring.

Some endings are meant to be — and Dixie found hers.
Her foster family fell completely in love with her and chose to make her part of their family forever. Now Dixie is happy, thriving, and surrounded by the love she deserves.

Butters

Meet Butters!
This stunning long-haired orange and white sweetheart has already lived a lifetime of challenges in just a few short years. When her previous family moved out, Butters was left outside to fend for herself. With nowhere safe to go, she became pregnant and had two litters before she was finally brought to Paws and Heroes.

At approximately 2-3 years old, Butters is gentle, affectionate, and incredibly resilient. She loves people, enjoys attention, and has a soft, calm energy that makes it easy to fall in love with her. Although she is FIV-positive, it doesn’t slow her down - with normal care, she can live a full, happy life just like any other cat.

Now that she’s safe, spayed, and on the mend, Butters is getting ready to start her next chapter. She’s looking for a forever home where she will be cherished, protected, and never forgotten again.

Millie

Millie is a breathtaking Siamese kitten that very likely is sisters with Mulan! This baby is almost ready to go to a loving home!

Lazarus

At around 3 years old, Lazarus is curious, playful, and loves attention from anyone willing to give him cuddles. With his gentle nature and striking looks, he’s ready to find a forever home where he can grow into the loving companion he’s meant to be.

A gorgeous and ever-so-loving Siamese full of energy, curiosity, and more purrs than you could ever hope to hear!

Mulan was found by the foundation abandoned and starving away - However after some gentle care and rehabilitation by the 

foundation, this little furball is in better shape than ever before and is ready to go her forever home!

Mulan has now been adopted by a friend of the foundation!

Seahorse

Meet Seahorse! This adorable 4-month-old black and white kitten was found at the beach, running up to rescuers in search of food and love. Seahorse is a playful and affectionate little kitten who gets along great with other cats and dogs in her foster home. Born around May 20, 2024, she’s ready to bring lots of joy to her forever family. Adopt Seahorse and let her playful spirit brighten your days!
